Cute Cute and More Cute!!!

Friday, January 25, 2008 at 3:17 am (Beauty, Big Business, Fun Times, Just For Fun)

Well…I’m still awake but after I post this I’m going to go hop in bed and curl up next to my sleeping hubby. Then I’m going to warm my cold hands and feet on him…he’ll love that, I promise! Actually though, considering he woke me today by putting HIS FREEZING cold hands on me (which of course he thought was HILARIOUS), I think it’s payback time!

Anyway, here is precious, precious Leah. I can’t wait to see how she’s grown next trip…though it will inevitably make me a little sad! My mom said she has really changed since Christmas is just has more personality than ever. Love her!!!

Horsing Around

Friday, January 25, 2008 at 1:53 am (Beauty, Big Business, Fun Times, Just For Fun)

So…have you ever wondered, “What does Jonna do in the middle of the night?” Well…tonight, I’m answering that very question! Lucky you!

Since I found myself awake and thinking of all the fun things I’d like to be doing rather than lying in bed NOT sleeping, I decided it was time to just get up. So, I’ve been goofing around and decided to post a little collection of pictures that I took of Elenna after Christmas. I’ve been meaning to post them anyway so…here they are. I’m just having WAY to much fun with my new actions.

By the way-James and I gave her cowboy boots for Christmas (because she wants to be a cowgirl when she grows up…NOT because we’re mean and thought she didn’t need any toys.) I made her cowboy hat as part of her gift too! I LOVE it!!! I also love that she is wearing a dance leotard, boots and the hat. Too cute!

Pictures of Leah coming soon!

A little less talk…a lot more action

Monday, January 21, 2008 at 8:31 pm (Beauty, Big Business)

I got new actions! Yeah! I’ve had my eye on itty bitty actions (52 pack) for a while and finally got them. A lot of my favorite photographers also use these photoshop actions. I just did some quick changes using them tonight but the possibilities are endless! The left is the original (after my own post processing) and on the right is the result of using one of the actions. Note: Of course I can turn any image into black and white but the actions really make the tones pop. I love them!

1. Original color “wow”

2. Old school color

3. Cross Process

4. Black/white moody blues

5. Color whisper

6. Urban intensity

The Future Mrs. Nick Jonas

Sunday, January 20, 2008 at 4:07 pm (Beauty, Big Business, Friends, Fun Times)

Finally…here’s some pictures from my shoot with Em. We had so many good ones I just chose a few to put up on here. She was a fabulous model and we had a blast!

Yesterday I took her to wait in line (in the 16 degree wind chill) for Jonas Brothers tickets. Like me you probably have no idea who they are but they’re HUGE with the teen girls. It was absolutely FREEZING but was worth it for her because they actually showed up and surprised the crowd by playing 3 song on the awning of the Nokia Theater building (and…they weren’t too bad!). There was some serious screaming going on in that crowd, let me tell you! AND…Em got 8th row tickets so it was worth it for me just to see her so excited. Oh…and we might be on Ellen on Monday. They were their filming for it so look for us in the crowd. We’re the ones bundled up but still freezing. Oh, wait. That’s not gonna help.

Stupid Athletes…

Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 9:50 pm (Word Therapy)

I know I’ve been absent from doing much worthwhile blogging lately. I feel that I should give you a little update as to why.

In early December I ran out of my growth hormone shots only to find out that I was not going to be receiving any more from Eli Lilly. They changed their policy of eligibility and I no longer qualify. Insurance typically doesn’t cover this extremely expensive therapy. Washington DC is currently slamming this medication as well…though I’m sure this has nothing to do with the fact that athletes and others are abusing this treatment. Yes…implied sarcasm there. Trust me…given the chance I’d love to tell those abusers what their actions are doing for the rest of us that truly need the human growth hormone.

Anyway, I’ve been off the shots for a good month and a half now and it is definitely affecting me. While I feel like I’ve complained enough on this blog about my health, I just wanted to let you know that is where I am at. I am working on getting it through another company but the process is slow and frustrating. My father and sister are also dealing with this.

So-all that to say…don’t give up on me blogging. I have so many stories I’ve love to write about but my energy level, creative juices and inspiration are sorely lacking. Again…don’t think I’m complaining…I’m just updating.

If you would like to be of any assistance you can pray for me, as well as my dad and sister. You can also come clean my house. Your choice.

Same Kind of Different as Me

Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 9:34 pm (Beauty)

I read this book today after hearing rave reviews by friends who had recently read it. It is a shocking and inspiring work. I wholeheartedly recommend you go and purchase this book today. Be forewarned though…you may need to stock up on tissues while you’re out.

I plan on buying several copies of this book to give to others.

Thanks again for all the feedback. Here’s some other color choices and a look at changing the back up a bit to make my contact info larger. Yes, no or maybe?

1. “Greenish”

2. “Bluish”

3. “Tanish”

PS-I’m rather liking the bluish one.

It’s been a while…

Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 2:05 am (Big Business)

I know. I’m a bad blogger. Bad Jonna. Bad. Sorry for leaving all my gracious fans hanging for so long. I’ve been busy and to be quite honest…just not really feeling the writing as of late. I think much of this can be attributed to the arrival of my camera and the fact that a lot of my creative energy has been going towards it and photoshop. I am going to make a valiant effort at writing more regularly again…I haven’t even told you about Christmas yet!

Right now I’m busy trying to get stuff done for the business. Tonight I’ve been working on my business cards and wanted to post it to get your fabulous opinions. Although logo numero tres received many votes the final decision was with number two. It’s more streamlined and classic. A little more timeless and a little less trendy (but I DO love trendy…don’t get me wrong!).

I did a shoot with the daughter of one of my good friends this week. The daughter is actually a good friend too. We went out on Wednesday morning…in literally freezing temps and she was a trooper! This was part of her birthday present from me. She turned 15 on Thursday. Happy Birthday Em!!! As you will soon see-she is just a beautiful girl. Inside and out. James and I have decided we would like to clone her for a child. (By the way…the center picture on the business card is her.)

Also gracing the card are our two gorgeous nieces. Leah is on the left and Elenna is on the right. You’ll of course recognize the right picture. The left is one I shot of Leah over Christmas.

So-please be kind enough to give your opinions on the card. Likes, dislikes, color suggestions….whatever. I’m not going to order until I get a little feedback.

Here it is: Front and then back. Oh-and note: these are sized for a full bleed at the printer so imagine these with 1/8 of an inch less on all sides.

PS-if ANYONE could PLEASE tell me why I am having problems typing in paragraphs that would be great. I’m having to do a lot of extra work to make them happen and it is quite annoying. Seriously…it bugs me so much that it is part of the reason I have not been writing.
